On Wednesday, June 11th, CompanyGame successfully hosted a free online event focused on a key topic for 21st-century education: how management simulators can boost the development of the most relevant competencies for the business leaders of the future.
A Deep Dive into Active Learning
Under the title “Management Simulators and the Key Competencies of the Administrator of the Future”, the 100% online event brought together educators, researchers, and professionals from across the region to reflect on:
- The skills that will define business leadership in the coming years
- The power of active learning methodologies to transform the classroom
- Real-world cases of simulator implementation in universities
- The potential influence of gender on learning outcomes with simulators
A Leading Figure Transforming Realities
The session was moderated by Alberto Marín, CEO of CompanyGame, who introduced the guest speaker: Dr. Alba Patricia Guzmán Duque, researcher and professor at UTS Colombia.
Her presentation stood out for showcasing the measurable impact of simulators in academic programs. A recent study conducted in 2023 revealed a dramatic drop in student dropout rates—from a concerning 30–40% to as low as 2–6%—thanks to the consistent use of simulators in management training.
The research highlighted that these tools not only improve retention but also align learning with graduate profiles, helping students identify and address their own skill gaps.
Challenges and Future Outlook
Although the study was conducted in a local context with a sample of 290 students, the experience paves the way for expanding research to a national level in Colombia—and even across Latin America—exploring new, more dynamic teaching approaches that are student-centered and closely tied to real-world demands.
An Open Invitation to Educators and Leaders
The event concluded with an inspiring message: educational innovation doesn’t depend solely on technology, but on a shared commitment to enhancing the learning experience.
CompanyGame thanks all participants for their attendance and reaffirms its commitment to creating more vibrant, applied, and transformative learning experiences.
